Religion vs Christianity

"Q – Isn’t Christianity a religion?
No. Christianity is not a religion because it does not involve humanity’s attempt to reach God, but rather God’s attempt to reach humanity. Christianity is centered on a personal relationship between a creator God and His human creation. It’s about a loving God who initiates the relationship by revealing who He is to His human creation by coming to us in the person of Jesus. Through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus a person is given the way to become acceptable to God who is holy and experience the true meaning for their life."
As Easter Holidays come to an end, I just want to be continually reminded of what this 'holiday' is really about. Its not about just us not going to school/work for a couple of days, its not about some Easter Bunny that lays chocolate eggs...no...Its about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and thus Jesus' mission was completed, He died for our sins, he beat death, He was the ultimate sacrifice as a result our sins are forgiven and we can be seen as blameless before God.
One thing many Christians do is they tend to forget the principles or reasonings behind why we do what we do. Instead it all becomes a religious farce and in turn they end up forcing others to believe in their religious farces. So please I beg of you, as we continue on, make sure your heart is in the right place when you partake of these ceremonies. One thing I know is that God doesn't care about actions alone, he knows our heart so if you want to remember Christ on holidays only what is the point? Christ came so we could have a intimate and personal relationship with God for ourselves. Back then hearing God happened through other people but now its a different situation we have the chance to hear God for ourselves. Its just unfortunate that people still rely on prophets. Not to say its completely wrong but its not always necessary. University students are constantly taught to feel free to challenge concepts brought up by their lecturers and other academics, and I feel it is important to do in the Church as well.
Anyways, I hope the holidays gave you some rest and peace and that you'll be strengthened to carry on!
Peace!
